The trees you plant this summer will be here for decades. They'll grow into forests that support jobs, clean water, wildlife, and the economy your kids will inherit. That's the part people don't forget.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much will I make?
Tree planters are paid per tree. Speed varies by planter, but most people plant around 2,000 seedlings a day and make an average of $250 a day. Daily earnings are higher for Tree Care Assistants and Crew Foremen.
What are the hours?
Hours vary and can be weather dependent, but most crews start in the cool of the early morning. and finish by mid-to late afternoon. You work three days on, one day off, throughout the season.
The season runs April to September, with a typical Spring plant of 55+ days and a Fall plant of 35+ days.
Is tree planting as hard as people say?
It is. Foresters say it takes more energy than any other job in the woods. You're up early to beat the heat and the bugs. You're walking rough ground all day, bending, planting, moving. Rain some days, sun others.
But you catch your rhythm. And here's the thing: by the end of summer, you're in the best shape of your life. Stronger. Ready for sports, school, or whatever's next.
It’s a badge of honor, and a source of pride, earned by doing something most aren’t willing to try.
And you've left something behind that'll be here long after you’ve moved on.
What should I wear or bring?
You'll need to bring:
- CSA-certified steel-toe boots (required)
- Hat and Rain gear
- Sunblock and bug spray
- Lunch, snacks, and
- Lots of water (4–8 litres a day)
The company provides planting tools and bags.
How do I get to the planting site?
A typical crew consists of one crew foreman, one tree care operations assistant and 10-15 planters. We'll get the crew to the site each day. Transportation is usually by truck/van, and it varies by area. Your crew leader will have the details.
Where will I stay?
We run both community-based crews and camp-based crews. If you're on a community crew (i.e. Fredericton, Sussex, Saint George, Kennebecasis Valley), you go home each night.
If you're on a camp-based crew in a more remote area, you stay on-site during rotations in crew accommodations with private/semi-private rooms, cook houses, Wi-Fi and more.
